Let's face it, we all get stuck in a rut from time to time. Sometimes these times last for a few hours or days, other times they last for weeks, months or even years. Take a look at these three simple ways to change your life and see how you can easily change things for the better.

1. Get out of the other side of the bed

This can be metaphorical - all it really means is take a different approach. Look at things differently. Go back to the sense of wonderment that you had as a child. Start with things you take for granted - maybe that cup of coffee on your desk. Run through the marvel of how it got harvested half way across the globe, the beans were roasted to perfection in giant ovens and then ground especially for you before having hot water sprayed through them and then milk frothed and added. Do this a few times a day and awaken your mind to new thoughts.

2. Try something different

Keeping with our coffee example, try an espresso if you normally sup a latte. Anything different causes your mind to start re-processing things it takes for granted. Walking on the other side of the street or mall. Try looking at the buildings around you - my guess is you'll see things you haven't noticed before, even if you've been somewhere tens or hundreds of times.

3. Say yes instead of no occasionally

Another quick way to change your habits. If you always say no to something, consider saying yes instead. Obviously make sure it isn't something dangerous or life threatening but most of the time our knee jerk "no" could just as easily be a "yes" and that simple switch of one word could be enough to transform your life for the better.
