If you suffer from sleep apnea, counting sheep won’t help you to get some shut-eye. This disorder causes disruptions in your breathing while you’re asleep. If ignored, this problem can actually become deadly! Here are some sleep apnea cures that you can use when suffering from the sleeping disorder:

1. Elevate the head of your bed four inches. This can help to reduce how much snoring you do, and also allow you to breathe more easily. That’s because your tongue and jaw are encouraged to shift forwards. When using this technique, sleep without a pillow--to protect your neck muscles.

2. Shed some pounds. What does exercising have to do with sleeping? It's simple: if you’re overweight, then you’re at a greater risk of suffering from this sleeping disorder. But the good news is that burning just 10% of your weight could function as one of the most effective sleep apnea cures, and help you get some more winks tonight.

3. Reduce or stop your intake of alcohol and tobacco. While we know that smoking tobacco can have a negative impact on your sleep, studies show that alcohol can also keep you from getting some quality shut-eye. It can lengthen the time you need to fall asleep, shorten the time in each of the states of sleep, and decrease your overall amount of sleep. If you’re going to drink alcohol, limit it to one beer or one glass of wine per day.

4. Sleep on the side of your body. You can find special tools, such as pillows, to encourage sleeping on your side. There are also various methods that can cause the create effect. Sleeping on your side can help you to sleep better and longer.

Along with special machines, these are some of the best sleep apnea cures that you can try. Make your nighttime the right time for sleeping!
