If you are reading this article then you should already be aware that there are five basic divorce ground and Unreasonable Behaviour is one of the most common used as it covers a plethora of issues. The problem is that using such a ‘ground' can often result in a contested divorce.

You are probably wondering why that is but few people like to be accused of acting 'unreasonably', even if they have and it can often be more simple to use one of the other four Divorce Ground to ensure your divorce goes smoothly. Your divorce lawyer will be able to advice you on the best course of action when it comes to which divorce grounds to choose.

The important thing to remember when opting for unreasonable behaviour is that you must be able to prove that fact - and the behaviour must have happened, or have been happening within the past six months for it to be accepted by the %5Bremoved%5Dvoid(0)" UK divorce courts. If it happened a long time ago they make take the view that you have forgiven your spouse!

Proving unreasonable behaviour can be tough sometimes. If violence is the issue then it is very easy but in many cases it is a question of proving the effect such behaviour has on you. The test is whether they have behaved in a way that you cannot reasonably be expected to live with him/her.
