Do not underestimate the negative effect ofnight sweatson your ability to survive this stressful world.  If you're sweating away at night, you're making yourself dehydrated and you're keeping yourself from obtaining the vital rest you require to simply operate.

So let's get rid of night sweats (clinically referred to as sleep hyperhidrosis). Step one will be to eliminate any beverages containing caffeine or alcohol.  If you can't stop drinking them entirely, then at least cut them off about five hours before you head to bed.

Next, you must get rid of those spicy foods.  Maybe later when you've mastered your night sweating domain you can bring them back in moderation, but for now, get rid of them.  If you can't possibly live without that spicy salsa, at least try to not consume any spicy foods for four to six hours prior to hitting the sack.

Now you must discipline yourself to not eat at all for at least an hour before bed.  We don't want any of those digestive fires burning while yout try to sleep without night sweats.

Next let's take a look at your bedroom.  Got flannel sheets? Get rid of them, silly. Got polyester pajamas? Pass them to friends or family. To get rid of your night sweats, you need light pajamas and sheets made with 100 percent natural and breathable materials, like linen or cotton.

And how's the temperature in your bedroom?  Cozy? Get it cool.  Many people don't realize it, but an abundance of research indicates we sleep better in a colder temperature than we would typically find comfortable when awake. So do what you can to cool it down in there.

I also encourage you to keep a glass of cold water by your bed. Put plenty of ice in it so it stays cold through the night.  A sip of cold water along with placing the glass against your face or forehead can go a long way towards eliminating your night sweats.
