Men and women experience dips in their sexual appetites at various times in their lives. However, it is common for women in their late 30s and early 40s to experience some sexual dysfunction and loss of desire for sex. Men often want to learn how to increase libido in women so that they can have a more satisfying sexual relationship with their partners.

Do you need counseling

In some instances, women can benefit from counseling. Counseling can help women who have been the target of sexual abuse as a child or as an adult come to terms with their feelings of guilt. Without the benefit of psychotherapy counseling, sexual abuse victims will have a difficult time increasing their libidos. In general, women who are happy with their relationship, their spouse and with themselves will have an increased libido, so counseling can help just about everyone.

Are there drugs approved for loss of libido

No drug has been approved by the FDA to increase sexual desire in women. There have been some studies that women taking anti-depressant drugs have felt an increase in their libidos, but more studies would need to be conducted to ascertain whether the drugs could be prescribed for that purpose.

The need for testosterone

There have been studies that show women who have gone through menopause may benefit from taking testosterone. Testosterone can increase libido in women who are not receiving estrogen therapy.

Get your man to help you

Men can increase their women's libidos by helping out with household chores. Your partner may not be interested in sex if they are consumed with all of the tasks that must be completed each day. In addition to the sheer volume of work, women may be too tired after working all day and taking care of the children to have sex. If you want your woman to have a surge in sexual appetite, do what you can to make her less tired and happier.

Men, help increase libido in women by giving them what they need. If it's counseling, female enhancer products, or just you, help them. Women should not have to go through this alone. This is not the time for you to be selfish, they need your help, give it to them.
