Many mums-to-be are blessed with shiny, thick hair due to pregnancy hormones – but some aren't so lucky. Pregnancy hormones can play havoc with your hair. If your hair type has changed and you don't know how to make the best of your new locks, read on.

Fine or limp hair
New pregnancy hormones can lead your hair to overproduce oils and appear limp and greasy. If this happens to you, try Pantene Full and Thick Shampoo and Conditioner. Kate Haine, 20 weeks pregnant, says 'I have fine hair and the first time I used it, it looked very fulsome and lovely.'

Charles Worthington Dream Hair Thickening Shampoo is a great troubleshooter. Naomi Carter, 26 weeks pregnant, says 'I've been waiting for the thick, glossy hair that's supposed to happen during pregnancy, and now I've finally got it, although I'll admit it's out of a bottle.' If your hair seems lifeless and lacklustre between washes, try using a product such as Toni & Guy Dry Shampoo in between washes for fresher-looking locks.

Dry or frizzy hair
Those pesky pregnancy hormones may also be responsible for turning your gorgeous, silky-smooth barnet into a frizzy mess.

A rich, moisturising treatment can soon sort it out – try Clinique Dramatic Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner. Nadine Roodhouse, 22 weeks pregnant, says that the shampoo 'was lovely, and my hair definitely felt softer after I blow-dried it.'

Lancome Hair Sensation Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner were also very popular as a treat for stressed-out locks. And a spritz of Mark Hill's De-Frizz Shine Control Mist left Rebecca Aston, 17 weeks pregnant 'with lovely, glossy hair – my frizz has finally been tamed.'

Also, pay attention to sun damage.
