Scientists are constantly researching every disease and disorder in order to find out more about them and find ways to cure them. Because hair loss is such a big concern, many scientists have put a lot of time and effort into finding out more about this disorder and how to treat it. The latest hair research shows a lot of promise in helping people fight the battle against hair loss.

The latest hair loss research shows that scientists have actually found a gene that is involved in hair growth and loss. It is called APCDD1 and it is responsible for causing hereditary hypotrichosis simplex, a hair loss disorder that starts during childhood. This disorder is very similar to male pattern baldness. Scientists have also found that this gene interrupts the pathway that signals hair growth called Wnt signaling. What this means for people who are suffering from hair loss is that they will be able to use this data to create a treatment that is not hormonal and can help to treat the many types of hair loss that occur from follicle miniaturization. Currently there are many people who cannot take hormonal drugs such as Propecia, but this new treatment shows that there are other ways to go about fighting hair loss.

Another study has shown that stem cells may actually be able to help people who suffer from hair loss. They took stem cells out of the hair follicle and transplanted them on adult mice. Within as little as four weeks they found new hair follicles were forming. This means that doctors may be able to transplant stem cells from hair onto the scalps of people who suffer from hair loss to help them regain their hair. The study did say though that they are at least ten years away from actually turning this into a procedure that will be available to the public.

One study even shows that it can be possible to clone hair for people with hair loss. What the procedure would really do is clone hair follicles which could be injected into the scalp. These follicles would be designed to keep working for your lifetime. This means that you can have hair as thick as you want and you wont need to have surgery to take a bunch of pills. This can be quite a relief for many people with hair loss. This is also a treatment that will not be ready to hit the market for some time.

The latest hair research shows a lot of promise. It can help cure the problem of your hair loss. It could even help you grow new hair or even have it injected right onto your head. Science these days is moving to where anything is truly possible. Even though these studies are still years from actually being used as everyday treatments for people with hair loss, it is still great because it gives people hope that someday we can live in a world where people have no choice but to be bald.
