Only use your bed for sleep and sex. You want to train your body to know that when you get on the bed, it's time to sleep. Also, only go to bed when you feel tired and you need sleep. If you can't get to sleep, get up and go to a different room in your home. Stay awake until you do feel tired.

Imagine your feet being very relaxed, and then that relaxation moves up your entire body. This is known as progressive muscle relaxation. You can learn these relaxation techniques in behavior therapy sessions.
